Welcome to a new and exciting year at St John Vianney Catholic Primary School. It is a privilege to be your child’s Year 2 class teacher, and I am looking forward to a year filled with fun, laughter and lots of learning. Having now spent three years at St John Vianney, I feel incredibly proud to be part of such a caring and supportive school community. I am excited to get to know each child and family and to work together to help every child flourish, grow in confidence and become the best person that God created them to be.

I am committed to building positive relationships with every child and creating a classroom environment where kindness, respect and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. Year 2 is a very important year in your child’s primary school journey, and I will strive to make learning engaging, practical and enjoyable. I am passionate about hands-on experiences that bring learning to life and help children develop curiosity, independence and a love of learning.

Our classroom will be a safe and welcoming place where children feel valued, listened to and encouraged to share their ideas. We will celebrate effort, perseverance and achievement, whilst recognising that making mistakes is an important part of learning. I want every child to feel confident to take risks, ask questions and challenge themselves as they grow throughout the year.

Outside of school, I enjoy visiting theme parks. The steeper the drops and bigger the loops, the better! I have even been skydiving. When I am not seeking adventure, I enjoy spending time outdoors and going on long walks with my German Shepherd.

I am very much looking forward to the year ahead and all the wonderful experiences that Year 2 will bring. Together, we can make it a happy, successful and memorable year for every child.

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you and your child as they begin their Year 2 journey. My name is Mrs Hodgkinson, and I am delighted to be your child’s teacher this year.

I am passionate about helping children develop a love of learning and grow in confidence. I have worked hard to create a welcoming, nurturing and supportive classroom environment where every child feels valued, safe and encouraged to thrive. My aim is for each child to enjoy coming to school, embrace new challenges and achieve their very best throughout the year.

A little bit about me: when I am not teaching, I love spending time with my children and our dog. We often enjoy going for walks in the beautiful Lake District, exploring the outdoors and making new memories together. I am also an avid reader and particularly enjoy the Harry Potter series, which has been a favourite of mine for many years.

I am very much looking forward to getting to know your children and supporting them on their learning journey. I believe that a strong partnership between home and school is key to a successful year, and I look forward to working closely with you to ensure your child is happy, confident and successful.
