Working Together

You may be aware that the Diocese of Lancaster has been working closely with the Department for Education to agree a clear and sustainable way forward for the family of Catholic schools within the Diocese. The aim of this collaboration is to strengthen the long-term future of Catholic education by encouraging schools to work together more closely within a shared structure. Through careful planning and consultation, the Diocese and the Department have been exploring how best to ensure that every Catholic school can continue to flourish, uphold its Catholic mission, and provide the highest standards of education and pastoral care for all pupils.

As part of this ongoing work, it has been agreed that Catholic schools across the Diocese will be invited to form or join existing Catholic Multi Academy Trusts. These Trusts will bring together groups of Catholic primary and secondary schools that share the same values, vision, and commitment to working collaboratively for the benefit of their communities. By joining together under one Trust, schools will be able to share resources, expertise, and best practices more effectively, helping to secure a strong, united future for Catholic education across the Diocese of Lancaster.
