Year 4
In Year 4, children build confidence, curiosity, and resilience through engaging lessons and meaningful experiences. With faith, respect, and a love of learning at the heart of our classroom, every child is supported to grow and thrive.
Welcome to Year 4
Class 4CC:
My name is Miss Collins-Campbell, and I am genuinely excited about the journey we’re about to embark upon together. This will be my third-year teaching at St. John Vianney, and I am committed to fostering an environment in our classroom that rests upon strong foundations of respect, curiosity, and a genuine love for learning. I am very excited that this year, I am taking lead of Curriculum PE. In Year 4, we recognise the significance of building fundamental skills that lay the groundwork for a successful academic journey. Reading fluency remains a cornerstone in Year 4, and I kindly request your support in providing regular reading opportunities at home. A strong foundation in reading not only enhances comprehension but also paves the way for success across the wider curriculum. Additionally, multiplication will be a focal point this year. Proficiency in times tables is vital, as it equips children with the number fluency necessary to succeed in Mathematics beyond this year and throughout their education. Year 4 promises a wealth of wonderful opportunities and experiences, and I am enthusiastic about guiding your child through these enriching moments. With your support and our collaborative efforts, I am confident that we will make this year an exceptional one for your child’s personal growth and academic progress. Year 4 is set to be an incredible journey filled with learning and memorable experiences both in and out of the classroom!
Class 4R:
Welcome to a new and exciting year ahead at St John Vianney Catholic Primary School. It is a privilege to be your child’s Year 4 class teacher, and I am sure this school year will be filled with excitement, laughter and of course, lots and lots of learning! This is my second year here at St John Vianney and I feel so proud to be part of such a wonderful community, I look forward to meeting each of you throughout the year and working together as a team to provide the best support which helps your child to continue their growth and journey enabling them to be the best person that God created them to be.
I am committed to building relationships with each child and encouraging positive relationships within our classroom, showing kindness, compassion and respect to one another. I am passionate about hands on and practical learning, which I feel benefits the children across curriculum subjects and I will strive to ensure they enjoy coming to school each day.
4R will also be joined by the wonderful Miss Baxter who is also committed to supporting your children and providing the extra support needed to stretch and challenge learning as we progress through the year. Our classroom will be a safe space for children to voice their opinions, share ideas and collaborate in team discussion, which is a fundamental life skill and will aid them in their future endeavours. Our classroom is a place where mistakes are made, recognised and we will celebrate learning from these mistakes together, as this is all part of the complicated process of learning.
Outside of school, I enjoy visiting theme parks – the steeper the drops and bigger the loops, the better! I have even been skydiving! However, on my more relaxed weekends, I enjoy being outdoors and spending hours getting lost on long walks with my German Shepherd.
