The PE and sport premium is a government funding stream designed to help primary schools improve the quality of PE and sport activities they offer. Schools receive PE and sport premium funding based on the number of pupils in Years 1 to 6.  Details on how the PE Sports Premium is spent can be found be clicking on the button below.

Sports Premium 2020/21

In 20/21 the school has received £11387 for the sports premium grant for September up to March 21. This grant is always to be used to enhance PE and Sports for our children in addition to the PE lessons they receive in school. This grant was not confirmed during budget setting and was only announced much later so planning for it, with the addition of the pandemic has been scaled back due to the reduction in funding and ability to provide all the services. Therefore, we are to use the grant for the following services

  • Blackpool Community Trust £3000 – They provided a coach who teaches additional PE lessons to 1 class (due to bubble restrictions) each half term. We are currently exploring the possibility of the coach also provided an extra curriculum sports club for that bubble in that half term depending on numbers interested.
  • Outdoor Education £1500 – This has been budgeted for and we are hoping to ringfence the money to provide this in the new year as long as it can be done safely and without compromising any of our current safety procedures for Covid.
  • School Swimming Services £3843.67 – 2 30-minute lessons a week for our year 4 & 5 children (year 5 only if they require additional lessons) has been planned for , however due to Palatine Swimming Baths currently being renovated and the alternative venues being to far away to be a viable option, this is currently on hold and will be looked to either be taken up in the new year or alternative the funds use for a different activity or service.
  • Swimming coaches £1125 – cost of transport to and from swimming baths. On hold as above.
  • Teach Active subscription £545 – this helps delivery learning whilst getting the children active and moving.
  • Remaining £1373.33 will be used to contribute to the wages of the additional HLTA who specialized in sport and PE who continues to help improve PE planning and delivery. Unfortunately, in the current climate the coaching of extra curriculum sports teams as well as the planning and running of extra curriculum sports clubs ¾ nights a week after school is currently on hold and will be reviewed and resumed as soon as it is safe to do so.
  • If swimming can not be carried out in the new year the £4968.67 will be used to purchase additional sports equipment to run new sports clubs once they can be resumed and improve the current pitches and facilities the sports team use in school such as new football posts.

Sports Premium 2019/20

In 19/20 the school received £19521 for the sports premium grant. This grant is always to be used to enhance PE and Sports for our children in addition to the PE lessons they receive in school. Therefore, we used the grant for the following services
