RE - Holy Week

5 April 2017

As always, the donkey came to visit! The whole school re enacted Palm Sunday yesterday! We played the part of the crowd waving their palms, while Year 6 were Jesus on the donkey and his disciples. This set the scene for the start of Holy Week and made this very special time in the church's year come to life.

The start of Holy Week

Each class has designed a Stations of the Cross for Holy Week. Mr Walsh used the Stations in his class assembly. The Stations are displayed in the hall and the parishioners were invited back today to see Year 4's Passion Play. The Year 6 children gave the parishioners a guided talk on each Station.

Year 4 re enacted the Passion of our Lord yesterday. Parents were invited to watch as well as the whole school. They used a mixture of media and gave the play a modern twist that really brought this important message home to us all. It was a time for quiet reflection and prayer.

A big thank you to Sophie who came to school this morning to talk about CAFOD. Sophie has spent some time in Ethiopia through CAFOD and told the children all about her experiences. She told us about how  the money we raise is used for different projects. It was very informative and really gave the children an insight into what happens after we do all our fundraising. Thank you again Sophie.
