Welcome to class 6B. It has been lovely to welcome your children back into school into Year 6. They have settled in well this week, adapting to new routines and made a really positive start to the academic year. I am looking forward to meeting parents and guardians at the upcoming ‘Meet the Teacher’ morning where you will find out about life in Year 6 and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
This half term we are looking at the History topic ‘The Maya’ in our Creative Curriculum. We will be exploring the topic in several subjects, including: Art, D.T and History. We will also be celebrating the works of Roald Dahl and reading the novel ‘James and the Giant Peach’ to draw inspiration for our writing.
Homework/Curriculum/Topic Comments Section
Your child has received their reading book and a new Reading Record this week. The expectation is that the children read at least 3 times a week and have their reading record signed by someone. Homework is given out on a Friday, in their Homework Book, and includes Spellings, SPaG and Arithmetic. Homework is due in on a Wednesday but the spellings will be tested on a Friday.
